As the new season is upon us, it worth mentioning the many players and executives that have found success outside the U.K. Most if not all have chosen to not back the professional game or national program. I would think their support is critical to growing the game. Why no public support or mention of support from the following:
Luol Deng John Amaechi Chris Finch Nick Nurse Joel Freeland Pops Mensa Bonsu Alton Byrd OG Anunoby Jeremy Sochan
To name a few. Without their endorsement, what do we really have. They are top class. Mr Vaughn, SDS and others pale in comparison.
So all the talk about a new dawn, and without the endorsement of the best the U.K. has/had to offer, is this all another window dressing season?
Do tell.

Not really a British influence when only 3 of them were born here and of those only two grew up here.

Nick Nurse and Chris Finch have regularly spoken about their time in the UK and its influence on their path to the NBA.

I believe OG Anunoby was persuaded by 777 Partners to invest in London Lions. I'm assuming he lost whatever he put in.

I’m assuming you’ve put John Amaechi on here by mistake? Johns been critical of the way basketball is run here (often more than justifiably so), but he did put his money where his mouth was in building what will always be called (to me anyway) the Amaechi Centre in Manchester which when it was officially called that played host to what was easily the most successful junior programme in the country and produced endless amounts of talent.

How we leaving out Newcastles Finest duo of Tosan and Fab Oh yes. Fab. Top man. Tosan just getting into the big league. Deng and Pops were shunned I believe. Whoever were behind that move should live in shame. And if they are still at EB, should be fired.

I thought Deng's lack of involvement was insurance related
Anyway, he seems to be busy helping South Sudan

Didn't Finch and Nurse coach the national team for a while? What are they supposed to do now to back it?
