He's a development player though isn't he? Chose riders over American college. At the end of his 4 year deal he'll be a very good bbl (pbl) pro

Should be a complete embargo on releasing ANY player signings until there is a full and proper announcement on what the firm plan is by the clubs. Sign your players quietly, do your business etc behind closed doors, but for heavens sake, this already looks amateurish. If the fans already haven't been treated like mushrooms, as the old saying goes - keep them in the dark and feed them shit. I'm watching how clubs are carrying on pumping out this content with utter bemusement. It's equally as bad as the London Lions socials still banging on about last seasons players. Sort your comms out clubs!!! Get some consistent messaging to fans urgently. I genuinely think D1 clubs could've done a better job of organsing themselves.

Bowman didn't really choose Riders over America. He accepted an offer from a small NCAA1 college, struggled, returned to Derby then joined Riders the following season. He's not finished at Loughborough yet so it's pretty much a given that he'll remain with the program. This isn't really a 'signing'. It's barely even news. Just a means of keeping our social media platforms looking semi-active under what I imagine are fairly challenging circumstances right now. No one cares that we've dropped this bombshell and in a month's time no one will even remember.
I do think it would maybe be sensible for team's to hold off on announcing imports or any new senior players until we have greater clarity regarding the league itself.

I think the whole "when is right to announce players" is actually a hard one. Usually clubs only make announcements when there is some sort of call to action, i.e. here is player X...now buy a ticket!
So i'm guessing since Riders are selling season tickets they are scrambling to get cash in ASAP regardless of the league announcement
