Sharma signs for Bursapor, that's quite the jump, not convinced he's that good as much as I enjoyed his game over here Bursapor are a pretty average Turkish team. I think he'll do alright. They're a Europe Cup team (Champions League last year) - I think that will be a good level for Sharma/Donte to do well

They finished 5th last year didn't they? His British passport won't help either so he'll be an import surely?

Sharma had already played half a season in the ACB and two years in Europe Cup before he signed with Lions. And he's spent the last two years playing EuroCup. I think there's enough relevant experience on the resume now to suggest he can be a solid player in one of Europe's better leagues. Let's be honest, it would be a surprise if most of last season's Lions squad didn't end up in relatively high level leagues. They were never BBL level players.
The most noteworthy move I've spotted this summer still hasn't been mentioned. Clifton Moore to a top tier French side. That's far more eyebrow raising in my estimation than Sharma to the Turkish league.

London Lions now showing as being in administration (I.e.formal insolvency process similar to US chapter 11) so suspect any London representation in the new league will be a newly created franchise (which, in turn, won’t be able to apply for visas for non-UK players until it gets a Sport England licence).

I'd rather he wasn't playing for any of our opponents. He was an excellent player and leader for Riders.

His video message to Riders' fans at the end of the season felt like goodbye, not au revoir. Times change and I'm grateful for his playing career with us but also happy he's secured a coaching post.. he deserves his success.

Times change and I'm grateful for his playing career with us but also happy he's secured a coaching post.. he deserves his success. Seems to me, that it could have been a case of he was planning to come back but the right opportunity came along so he decided to stop. As a villian I enjoyed routing against Kimbel last season when we played Riders and wish him good luck in his new venture. As for a rebuild I don't think Leicester will need to worry to much as most teams will be rebuilding since most players might have jumped ship early thinking no league was returning. The Eagles have just announced their pre season yesterday for mid September which gives us an indicator the new season won't start until late September/early October 2024. I hope the fixtures are announced soon though.

Tbh I didn't really rate him much when he played in the BBL mind. Ironic to see London had a player make the NBA instead of taking from the NBA.

Exhibit 10 deal so he'll probably just end up playing for their G League affiliate.
