Been planning that thread title for weeks. Unbelievable and totally expected result and reward for him and the squad of players and backroom staff.
Only just made it with an 11-10 vote in favour over Petar Bozic who funnily enough secured the 4 votes available from Giants and Patriots. No management pressure there then!!

I'm a London Lions fan, and I'd give my COTY vote to Ben Thomas over Petar Bozic! Nothing against Petar Bozic, he's been amazing. But he's had the tools to be amazing. What Ben Thomas and Cheshire Phoenix have done this season, with what they've had, is far more impressive than anyone else in the league. I obviously hope London thrash Cheshire on Sunday at the O2 though.  |

I can't argue with this and would agree and say congratulations Ben Thomas.
Yes Lions were good but at the same time Lions did what they were expected to do apart from losing the Trophy Final.
Whereas Cheshire a team that alot of people myself included wasn't expecting to be as tough after a change up in squad.
Went on to finish 2nd place, make 2 finals appearance and really tested the champion Lions.
Just like Riders with Rob I'd like to think Cheshire will have a coach in Ben Thomas for as long as he wants it.
Especially after a number of finals appearances and Trophies won.

Definitely a deserving winner. A pleasing result. How many on this forum predicted that Phoenix would finish second in the league before the start of the season? Not many, I'd guess.

Couldn't have been anyone else. From recruitment, to building a cohesive unit, to having a style of play and living and dying by it, he's been spot on this season and got the most from the players he has.
Do I think Bozic is a better pure basketball coach? Probably. Could he have done what Thomas did with the resources Cheshire have? Probably not.
