Yesterday the Eagles annouced they hosting a testimonial for club and BBL legend Darius Defoe to celebrate his 20 years playing at the club. Featuring Eagles Legends from his across his 20 year career.
Whilst he's made no official announcement on retirement. One now is wondering if this is possible sign that this could be time D decides to hang it up?

He would be badly missed. He is the leader on the court that holds the team together. Hopefully he gets another season out of his big old body.

DD thoroughly deserves this and I hope he gets a full house although I’m gutted I’ll miss it on holiday. Just think of all those ex Eagles who could be there - Fab, TJ, Fletch, Smith, Nimley to name just 5. To cap it all, he will be Mr. 28 by then, after we’ve beaten Nix at the O2 !

Well so far they have announced.... -Defoe -Lynard Stewart -Andrew Bridge -Drew Lasker. Does anyone know what the teams are going to be I.e is it going to be just 2 randomly picked teams of Ex Eagles players who played with Defoe like UK vs Rest of the world? Or will it be Ex Eagles players that played with Defoe vs Ex BBL players that played against Defoe? I have noticed so far we haven't had any non Eagles players announced or women players for that matter. I have noticed that so far it has only be Ex Eagles and no ex other team BBL players like Mike Tuck or Anthony Rowe etc...

Andy Thompson and Olu Babalola are the most recent announcements. What are the chances one of the next ones will be Stu Thompson?

First non Eagles player announced as Kieran Achara for the game. I think we can all agree that is a "Disgusting" announcement!
I wonder if now their focusing on building the opposing team for the match?

Coming in fast now, we have had Charles Smith and Drew Sullivan now announced. I wonder if they will get Rahmon Fletcher or Fab in for the Eagles.
And maybe Zaire Taylor, Yorrick Williams, Anthony Rowe etc... for the away team. Given the fact he mentioned it on Sky Sports this past season I would love to see Robbie P in but as a player instead of a coach just for the fun of it since I never saw Rob shoot hoops as he was before my time.

www.facebook.com/share/v/oW93wa8jZXsEgCv7/Nice little mention of the game on BBC Look North. As for the question will he or won't be retiring it looks like we might finally find out the answer tommorow. That being said given that we don't even have a league right now he might not have a choice but to retire at this moment in time. Unless he plans to play in EBL Division 1 or go abroad somewhere.

So for those of you there, am I right assuming that this was better than the All Star Game? 😂

Well that was better then I expected. It was brilliant to see so many Eagles legends back tonight and a fantastic crowd as well which were queing outside the arena and delayed tipped which was a real positive.
I'll admit it was a little weird at first watching a Eagles game and not shouting defence but a great laugh and a lot of fun. Although he wasn't officially announced Fab was even front and centre delivering an emotional speech too from both him and D.
As for the game play their was some players clearly past it but then also some who you thought still had game like Charles Smith and Sam Toulowasse which made me wonder if we could convince them to come out of retirement. The only thing that negatively suprised me was their was no win a ball raffle or sign Jersey as had their been one I would certainly bought a ticket. But other then that I had a great time. Fab said he was wanting to put it on again and get TJ Walker down to the next one.
To sum it up all I can say is never mind the BBL's North vs South rubbish to me this is what you call a real All Star Game that was worth watching.
