Well, this weekend Eagles have lost to both Bristol (7th) and Surrey (8th) so unless they take a very long look at themselves they can book their flights for the day after the 2nd first round playoff game. Have come to the conclusion that this team really isn’t either balanced or very good. Only when Defoe was on court did there seem to be any fight. Hope I’m proven wrong.

To be fair (which I’m not inclined to be) this weekend probably shows the value of JWH.

(Nearly) full season stats tell some of the story at least. Defensively Eagles have generally been weak when without Defoe. Rebounding & rim protection (ie the blocks stats) are mid-table at best. Top 3 on steals and assists, but none of that is enough to make up for poor field goal percentages - currently 7th & 8th best for 2&3 point shooting respectively. Not going to win much if you can’t put it in the bucket consistently.

I've changed my opinion on Tajh Green. I don't think he's coming back next season and I don't think he should be invited back.

Are Newcastle in free fall? Looks like they have lost their heads a little I'd say they got to their peak a little earlier than some teams by virtue of playing extra games in Europe and having no player turnover. Other teams have leapfrogged them by forming more as a team or adding players. How the defense just craters without Defoe on the court is just embarrassing for both the coaching staff and players. I've got say I've not enjoyed watching two seasons of Marc Steutel basketball now.

Pfft just seen the game now and it was honestly like watching a hot air balloon deflate rapidly. Just wasn't our day in the end and we looked even more lost then what we did the other day.
And to make matters worse we reverted to losing our cool and getting to technicals which showed we lacked discipline and once Marc got ejected I felt I had seen enough. What has happened? I have no idea as we seem to have become prone to losing all of a sudden.
Where on earth is the team that was flying high in November or battling tough during the Trophy despite being shorthanded.
Looking at the table now never mind 4th or 5th we look like we are in danger of finishing 6th or 7th and drawing Nix or Gladiators in the post season and losing any hope of home court advantage!
Unless the plan is we are throwing games purposely cause of this rumoured bracket thing that would see us avoid Lions. Then we need to seriously show promise in our final games vs Nix and Giants next week.
