Good tough game. Game of momentum and runs - was pleased to see Sharks hang in there while Allen was going bananas. Thought Sharks were generally on top for second half but Riders crucially stepped up with about 4 minutes to go and we weren't quick enough to adjust our line up. Not enough outside of Ramsey and Green who were excellent. Perplexed about how we (don't) use Pipkins unless he's still carrying an injury. When he's aggressive he can take over games and was unstoppable last night - just wasn't on the floor enough. Its going to be interesting to see where the playoff places finally settle. I suspect we would prefer Eagles, and Riders would prefer us on present form. Hope we don't end up with Gladiators.

There are quite a few BBL players who are difficult to stop. Allen's not unique. Ted actually is unique in my opinion. I honestly don't think there's another player in the league, including the very well paid guys in London, that can do what Ted sometimes does. That first half performance yesterday was ridiculous. It was one circus shot after another. He must be a very frustrating player to play/coach against when he's on it. He takes quite a lot of bad shots, which should be a good thing from an opposition's perspective. Trouble is you know he's one of those rare players that can make bad shots with regularity. Sharks certainly did an effective job of bottling him up in the second half. But they had to commit a lot of bodies to do it. And I don't think Ted did a particularly good job of adjusting to the extra defensive attention. I reckon he came out in the second half with 50 in mind. And he made a number of bad, selfish decisions, certainly in the third quarter. Spots where he should have just made a simple pass to a wide open teammate but instead decided to persist with his do it yourself, score or die trying approach. I don't mind that he only had two points in the second half but he can't have had more than one assist either and that speaks to an area where he can improve. He needs to become a better/more willing passer when teams go all out to stop him from scoring. Good win anyway. And whether his style of play is your cup of tea or not, I don't think anyone can deny that this Riders team is a hell of a lot better at winning games with Ted than without him. Riders are surely in pole position to finish 4th now, for the time being at least. Follow this result up with another win tomorrow and I think we become firm favourites. Lose tomorrow and it's a three horse race again. Well all I can say for Leicester is thank god for Teddy Allen. Talk about a get out of jail victory at the end when Erytle Rock had that nearly open shot at the bucket to almost force overtime. Suprised the Sharks lost that one since they only needed to stop one player but credit to Leicester for victory. I guess it's up to your boys to show everyone how easy it is to beat Ted's Riders tomorrow. It certainly went well last time. Eagles only lost by 16.

Last time we played Leicester was the Trophy when we were down to 6 men and 1 kid. And from what I was told Defoe was apparently under the weather that night but still played since we needed him. I wasn't suprised in the slightest we lost to Leicester that night. I think keeping Allen quiet and only losing by 16 was an achievement given the circumstances. Tommorow though with us at the back of the season and having played together a longtime now and without a huge amouny of injuries I'm expecting a no excuse performance from us win or lose. From watching Riders on Friday night after a few rough results they managed to show some signs of momentum and now have my a little more worried then I was before they could beat us again. But until the ball is tipped and game played I believe this game could go either way.
