This is going to be very tough I think - no Teddy Allen and Glasgow's roster is really good. Could be a long weekend.

Why are Scorchers playing a midweek away back to back when it’s 2 weeks since our last game - and in the middle of a 6 week stretch of no home games?
Something needs to be looked at when it comes to fixtures next year.
I would imagine this is a total free hit for Newcastle.
Edit: I’m over the initial shock of learning we’re playing again in this game and appreciate we may have requested this to reduce travel costs but still …

I thought the same back in December when we played Surrey at home and were on a winning streak having just beat London the previous week and Surrey away. Then surprisingly we had an off night and Scorchers got the better of us. Whilst I hope for an Eagles win and that we are more rejuvenated after our tough schedule before Sheffield and ready to concentrate on the playoffs. I wouldn't count Surrey out of this and I expect them to want to challenge us. I think it depends on which teams show up but it will help if Manchester can some how tire them out for us tonight.

Phoenix also have an unbalanced fixture list, 7 games in end March April with a run of 4 consecutive away games all over the place.
291th Plymouth 6th Caledonia 10th Plymouth 14th Sheffield 19th Newcastle
Now, where's that Premier Inn booking site!!

Big game tonight. No one seems to be talking much about Riders finishing third and if we lose this one it does start to feel a long way away. Win however and I think we're massively in that argument. We'd have the H2H on Gladiators, which I assume is still the first tiebreaker. And we're in good shape to have the H2H against Eagles too.
Far from ideal that we've got to get it done minus a key player. I'm getting the sense Whelan will be back tonight too. And I'll admit to being a bit worried about this Quade Green fella. Arrived with the resume of a difference maker at this level and seems to have well and truly hit the ground running.
It's going to be tough but I hope we can find a way to get what I think would be a very significant win. I really think the difference between winning and losing tonight is huge in terms of shaping the remainder of our season.

Green has made a huge difference to their roster. We'll struggle to beat their defence I reckon. Mind you, my predictions are generally dire, so...

If you've taken the 2/1 that's apparently available on a Gladiators win tonight, I think you've found value, win or lose.

I think the Tip for the Eagles game is delayed. Both teams are here so my guess is the officials must be running late or stuck in traffic.

Total team display from Eagles tonight - 8 players in double figures and 2 with double doubles - we don't see that very often ! IF they can keep this up against Sheffield it's looking very positive for the playoffs

IF they can keep this up against Sheffield it's looking very positive for the playoffs 41 pts in the fourth most of which were when the game was already won. Bit disrespectful don’t you think

Well after defeat last week it was great to see the Eagles return to winning ways and looking alot stronger. Until the 4th Quarter we never let Surrey get away from us but I felt we had the upperhand for most the night.
The guys looked like they were certainly having a lot of fun starting with Larry letting out a first quarter roar when he scored a basket and then got an and 1. And once we jumped out ahead it seemed like Scorchers struggled to catch us.
The only thing that slowed the game down was the officials tonight. Whilst they weren't terrible they did start to get a little but trigger happy at times especially in the 3rd Quarter. I wouldn't exactly say it was a physical game yet the amount of calls they blew it got to the point where I was thinking foregodsake let them play.
But apart from that not much I can say for Surrey except the can of Red Bull Josh Steel was drinking at half time might have not given Scorchers wings. But it certainly gave the Eagles a chance to sprout them towards the end when we ran riot scoring from range.
After this victory whilst I'm planning to avoid the Caledonia vs Riders game as I'm going to watch it tommorow. I hope Riders win so we can stay ahead of Leicester but also close the gap on Caledonia. If we can follow this up with a win over Sharks on Sunday then it makes it even better.
On another note when I sat down tonight apart from noticing the newly named Ken Nottage Stand sign which was a nice tribute. I also saw on the Eagles season ticket renewal we have already planned to enter the ENBL again next season as it gave us options to renew either just BBL or for both ENBL and BBL in one ticket. Which shows already we are thinking ahead to next season plans and the sort of team we plan to sign next year.
Whilst I hope that most this team can return seeing Spencer not get minutes and Will get limited minutes and not brought back in towards the end even when Kande was subbed in at the end. At this point in the season if a reasonably healthy player isn't getting played even in garbage time.
Then that sort of begs the question will they be signed back next year and will the fans be wanting them back next season? At this stage in the season if their not getting much minutes in meaningful time, crunch time or garbage time. Then when are they suppose to get the minutes.
Whilst I know they both can be effective at time I do think I need see a lot more from them to say they should come back next season. And theirs not alot of games left to prove this either.
Unless most of them are offered fantastic contracts in higher leagues which wouldn't be a suprise. I would be thrilled to see most of this team back as they have certainly all earnt a place back on this roster. And I'm happy to see we won tonight.

Without Holmes and Allen this was going to be an uphill struggle. Add to that the ejection of Paternostro with 2 technical fouls and we practically hobbled ourselves. Glasgow are a very good team and thoroughly deserved their crushing win. Clifton Moore was brilliant. Another game to forget. At least Sunday's game looks doable. We haven't lost to Plymouth for years... Oh, is that so? Bugger!
