Newcastle should be too good for a topsy turvy Sheffield

After watching the ENBL match against Bakken the Eagles could be really up for this one and ready to get back to business and put a beatdown on the Sharks.
Or we might be a little down in the dumps and hurting from just missing out on the ENBL final 4. I'm hoping we can come out strong and look to play a great game of basketball.
Suppose we will have to see which Eagles turn up and what the atmosphere across the arena will be tommorow night.

Suspect they may be completely knackered after a long trip home - but hope not!

Game not being streamed 😤. They must have all the cameras booked for the All Star game.

you'd think bbl could at least manage an explanation of no streaming - pathetic !

Following a match on livestats is weird, but it does tell me perhaps it wasn't worth watching ! Sounds like Ricky and Larry in particular suffered from Danish hangovers

Suspect they may be completely knackered after a long trip home - but hope not! No prizes for guessing I was right. Eagles were knackered & their decision making was fatigued throughout as well. Sheffield were competent & played hard (sometimes rugby). But deserved to win. The refs were clueless - 45 fouls in the game but still no control over the game. One of the worst displays I’ve seen. But they didn’t influence the result. they just ruined the experience. And (1) why no YouTube feed from the BBL? (2) why did we have to endure 4 media timeouts when THERE WAS NO MEDIA. Game ended at about 10pm. Half the parents at the arena had taken their kids home by then. Don’t blame them.

Didn't know about the stream but unless your a Sheffield fan you certainly didn't miss much tonight. We looked like we were still in mourning of the ENBL playoffs and probably a little worn out after an intense close game schedule.
Our shots did not fall tonight and other then Jordan Johnson and Green we struggled to get anything tonight and at times we looked like we played to fast to the point where we fumbled the ball to much and tripped.
Whereas Sheffield on the other hand played quite a physical game but were comfortably in control and executed well. Although at times they were living st the free throw line when it came to 2nd chance points they were good at making them. Only thing I don't understand was what Atiba meant when he said to someone in the crowd "do you speak English?"
As for the officials though, did any of them have a clue what they were calling tonight? Way to many stops and discussions during game play which caused the game to drag on. Definately seemed like they lacked self confidence and were quite inconsistent.
I also think Howard again could have done better informing the crowd as I had to check live stats on a poor Wi-Fi connection to see who got a technical out of Stetuel or the bench? That Vip competition as well I don't understand what was going on with that which was also confusing and could have been explained to the crowd better.
That being said the entertainment team tonight were certainly working hard to keep the crowd going and trialing some new ideas although I didnt expect them to roll out so much in one game. I did like the T-Shirt toss as I thought it was fun and dance cam.
Apart from that the only thing that suprised me was when they said some lad from Michagan USA was in celebrating his birthday tonight. Don't know who it was like or if the reason for their visit was because they had any connection to an Eagles team member. Although if it isnt to do with that then maybe the new US broadcasting deals might be attracting some fans from over Seas after all.
Back to the game though overall well done to Sharks tonight and as for the Eagles I hope we can re group and redeem ourselves against the Scorchers next week and get back to winning ways. Especially since they beat us last time at home in December I'm sure this time we will want to prove we mean business this time and get some payback.

It finished at 9:40, a little later than normal but probably more down to the amount of fouls called?
Could it be that the game was streamed somewhere? At one point they showed what could have been a ‘broadcast feed’ on the scoreboard complete with graphics showing the score etc?

Did Eagles just lose AGAIN? Boy oh boy. This Eagles team is starting to remind me of past Eagles teams.
Can't even see spacejammer being able to defend this one!

Whilst I wouldn't say this was the worst Eagles performance I had seen I think last night was a sign of fatigue and playing 4 games in 7 days including one overseas so it was understandbable why we were lackluster.. We did only lose by 10 points not 30 or more so it wasn't like we got completely ripped apart. And again the Sharks were really on form last night. Am I gutted about the result? Yes. But am I annoyed to the point where it overly bothers me? No. I'm sure in the next game we will back out playing better and I think our team could benefit with some rest snd recovery right now. As to the comments on why the game took so long. Again it lasted so long due to incompetent officiating and to many discussions over calls. Not that I consider it an excuse for our loss but that was why tbe game dragged.

Sharks were competent (not great) but deserved to win because the Eagles played like a team that was physically and mentally knackered - which I can understand after the trip back from Århus on Thursday. One game too many for them - no excuses but there were so many bad decisions, blown layups and short shots that it was clearly an issue of fatigue. I suspect this means that Eagles and Riders could well end up in 4th and 5th at the end of the season, which could make for a very interesting playoff series. I’m sure Stephen and INF will be looking forward to that since Eagles are so bad. The reality is that both teams are talented, flawed and inconsistent.

Eagles lost because they couldn't create a decent shot in the half court at all, as McGill and Johnson took turns playing iso ball. Granted they've played a lot of games in a week, but they could perhaps at least try and move the ball a little. There is an overreliance on transition play and I can't really see it changing.
