Deluded game report on Riders' website saying that Giants 'managed to hold on' in the 4Q. Yeah, right. They were lucky, weren't they? Usually these reports are pretty honest and fair. I don't know which game the writer was watching but it can't have been last night's.
It also states, quite rightly, that Walker was played to take advantage of Robertin not playing and he scored 4 points in 4 minutes early on. So, why wasn't he deployed again?

So we're not saying anything about the Paternostro Asberry incident then?
Bit of a reality check for us this weekend I think. Kicking off the season with two poor performances didn't make us the world's worst team. And two good performances on the road didn't suddenly make us the best.
I feel pretty confident that come playoff time, we'll be the closest thing there is to a team that can threaten Lions in a one off final. But we've got a lot of improving to do between now and then, particularly defensively and on the boards. We're far too easy to score on inside and we're currently giving up the most offensive rebounds in the league. Inexcusable really considering we're one of he biggest, deepest, most athletic sides.
Outside of Lions, I think the BBL is pretty much an anyone can beat anyone crapshoot at the moment. No team has clearly established themselves as the best of the rest. And there equally isn't a side that's so hopeless they can't possibly win a game. Even Surrey have gone close a few times despite getting f#ck all from most of their imports.

Don't know what Asberry said but Rob was clearly angry with him. Rob's the coach. What he says may not always be right but players need to understand that what he says goes. Over the years we've witnessed loads of instances like that. Not worried about it atm. Could become an issue of course. Time will tell.

Normally we defend better second half Could be a crisis looming at riders if they lose at eagles next Friday Riders will be fine. This result felt very much influenced by the fact that Riders were on a back to back to me. They'll beat Eagles by more than they did last week is my prediction. What happened with Asberry and Rob? |

Asberry presumably said something coming out of a TO that wasn't to Rob's liking, resulting in Rob following him onto the court looking very angry and threatening not to play him. All a bit uncomfortable but hopefully just a one off, heat of the moment exchange, not anything indicative of a bigger problem.
Talented player Asberry. Heaps of ability as a scorer. But he's also got a self confidence about him that borders on cockiness. I hope he doesn't turn out to be one of those players whose attitude gets in the way.
