Don't know what to expect from Phoenix. Hoping we are disciplined, get the win and avoid injuries. Think we ought to take the points with this first league clash based on watching two of our pre-season games.

Bookies have riders and flyers as firm favourites. I think it might be tighter games than they expect.

It might not be on Sky, but Dan and Ant are back on comms tonight for the Leicester/Cheshire game, which is getting a great reaction on social media, including a nice post from Nat Coombs.

Impressed with Cheshire. Plymouth are awful they may be the basement team this season

Flicked between both games, impressed with Cheshire. Well constructed roster full of shooting. Holden, Rai and Skyler White have been superb. Holden might be the signing of the season this year. Could see them up there this season. Although I can't see them shooting the lights out like this every night. Patriots look terrible, would be surprised if the win a game all season unless they make sure changes to the roster.

36-15 in favour of Phoenix in Q4. Says it all. We were thrashed and they deserved the win. Fantastic intensity and a real team effort. Could have been even worse if they'd been better from the FT line!

Wow. Don't often see Riders concede 110 points. Phoenix were exciting and got a lot of shots up and hit a lot, despite leaving a lot at the free throw line. Really liked Rai's impact at both ends of the court. Riders shot well overall but look like they're still gelling.

From what I saw I will be upgrading my assessment of the nix. Year after year Ben Thomas recruits well, hats off to him on a low budget. Riders look like it’s going to be changes acoming pretty soon or they will be lucky to make the playoffs

Phoenix were as good as Riders were bad. Riders were atrocious defensively and Nix hit absolutely everything they chucked at the rim. Rai and White were excellent but we did everything we could to help them. Also thought we got matchups wrong. Had Bowman guarding Rai for a long time 2nd half and he just bullied him down low. Persisted with that despite the fact he never made a jump shot all night. And the bigs trudging round the perimeter trying to guard White who had 1 rebound and didn't take a 2 point shot all night. Surely you switch that up and make either of them do something different.
So much to work on but the only way is up from here. The crazy thing is we were non existent defensively and majorly disjointed offensively (in no small part to the Nix D) but we still possibly win that game if we could rebound. Can't give up 30 extra shots and win any game. Never mind when the other team shoots probably better than they will the rest of the season.

Wow……..
5 points in it at halftime, but what a difference second half… Phoenix absolutely blew us away and throughly deserved the massive win. I can’t see us being blown out like that to many more time, but we definitely need a big kick up the Ass….
It wasn’t all bad news though, I met up with the legend that is Reallyoldfeenixfan, had a really nice chat and a great bit of banter…
Onwards and upwards…We play Patriots next week looking for our 381 consecutive victory over them…

All I can say is that was awesome and could of been so many more if we had got our free throw in like the rest of the shooting I have never seen us bully riders like we did tonight

Wow 2 blow outs are one thing but I certainly didn't expect Nix to rip Leicester apart like they did.
On one hand I'm buzzing to see our rivals get beat and look forward to seeing how IRF tries to defend this.
On the other hand given how we're playing Nix next I'm now worried that game could be a harder match then I thought as well.
For now all I can say is this is definitely an early upset so far.

Can't defend that result
Havent seen the game
Clearly big improvement needed
But big improvement is bound to happen
And all credit to Nix

Rai's a really good acquisition. He epitomised everything that was impressive about Phoenix's style of play. Great work rate and terrific skill, particularly on the baseline even when he was surrounded by Riders players. Coach Thomas has recruited well and forged a cohesive team in a short space of time. Riders will improve their defence which will give them a platform to build on. Surprised Idowu didn't get more minutes because he was really effective. Thought his rebounding ability might counter Phoenix's very successful offensive rebounding.

I know it's only first game of the season but I predicted Leicester were going to have a rebuild year and not set the world a light this season.
After this I'm wondering if their going to have a similar season to what the Eagles had 2 seasons ago where nothing seemed work at all and missed the playoffs?

After this I'm wondering if their going to have a similar season to what the Eagles had 2 seasons ago where nothing seemed work at all and missed the playoffs? Won't be that bad! I'm not too sure about that ... it was the worst Riders performance that I can recall over at least the last decade. Very poor perimeter defence, allowing Phoenix to attempt thirty nine three point shots. Very poor defensive rebounding, allowing Phoenix to secure twenty one offensive rebounds. Very poor ball retention, allowing Phoenix to score twenty four points from turnovers. Yes, it was the first competitive game of the season, but it was beyond grim.

Except Nix were playing great basketball and I don't think we'll be that poor again. We shall see a much improved performance in our next game. Pretty confident of that.
