Unrelated to this, there is already a documentary series coming to BBC3 about Caledonia Gladiators. www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2023/boot-dreams-and-ballers-bbc-threeyou are right, its something that impacts BBL and WBBL as both orgs and clubs from both have posted it - but its not fixtures! WBBL fixtures have been out for getting on a couple of weeks now. I'd list two items as joint favourites for what it is: Either rebrand of BBL and WBBL or the launch of the new inhouse broadcasting team and the logo they will work under. Lower odds are its the details of the all-star day, but be weird to push and launch that with so much effort when still to announce BBL fixtures. Is it one of those TV Sports documentaries every football club seems to get these days. I mean I really enjoyed "Welcome to Wrexham" and I started watching the latest Amazon TV series on Newcastle United today as well. Are they planning on releasing one on the London Lions rise to success or the rise and fall of the Newcastle Eagles. Or one based on the entire BBL titled "BBL know our name!". Sounds mad I know but before they were bought by Hollywood owners barely anyone had heard or thought much about about Wrexham. Now even fans from other teams are curious to watch them progress and know about them now. Let's be honest it wouldn't exactly be the worst idea if that was what the BBL tried to do in order to gain some more publicity.

I'm thinking all star game at Essex being announced I expect the BBL wants the All Stars game to be somewhere a bit bigger than Essex Sport Arena.

I think it would be a bit lame to build up the release of the fixtures like this, as that's something that has to come out anyway. It should be something that's new, different or maybe a bit special.

Yeah or that - as unlikely as it is!

So with the fixtures out today, that rules out this being tomorrow's announcement

Well today is the day. What do you all think this announcement is going to be?

If the video that's just premiered on the BBL YouTube page is anything to go by the logo is now a wavy B with a basketball in the middle. Big news. Not.

According to the Eagles page they announced a new league logo and slogan saying "Be Unbeatable".

It's an 8. Or a 3. Or a 1.3.
How is anyone supposed to recognise that as a basketball league logo?

The logo is fine. Lots of sports leagues have gone for a very simple black and white logo with a big dot which presumably represents the ball. I’m not a fan of that style but it is the modern style.
I have no idea what “UNBEATABLE” is supposed to mean. Maybe it’s just rubbing in the fact London Lions are unbeatable in the BBL. I don’t see that as a selling point of the league.

There is another minor change. On Instagram the Women’s British Basketball League account has changed from wbblofficial to britishbasketballleaguew.

Who is going to be the first team to lose in the unbeatable era?

Is it ironic? After all, basketball games don't end until one team IS beaten.

not sure what folk were expecting from a rebrand - seems fine. Its now all about recognition and when people see it they remember what the logo is for. here is a reasonably well recognised logo, is the new british basketball league one really that different from this one that doesnt mention the sport, doesnt have a clear recognisable ball? www.premierleague.com/resources/rebrand/v7.126.3/i/elements/pl-main-logo.pngat the end of the day its a brand image and it helps consistency in marketing, press social media etc, but what happens on the court is what is really got to be got correct to develop the sport further
