Congratulations to Storm unbeaten all season with 41 straight wins as they took the play offs today to secure their 4th Trophy. History makers. Invincibles.

Is that a record do we know? Would like to see them tested against higher level teams now!

Only Reading Rockets in 2008/9 season have gone unbeaten in all competitions in the history the NBL - until now

And sadly they will never be tested against higher level teams. I will be amazed if all players return. They will undoubtedly have offers after their performances this year.

And they added Sylla and Davies. So four new players 3 starters. A new team.

Only Reading Rockets in 2008/9 season have gone unbeaten in all competitions in the history the NBL - until now See in my memory Solent Kestrels went unbeaten for at least 1 season. Or are we counting their loss in the BBL Trophy final? Did Hemel enter the BBL Trophy this season? I thought they did and lost. Or do we not count that season as it ended early due to COVID? Fair point if so I guess.

Fantastic achievement by a well run organisation, Mohawks came close in the late 90s early 20s

Swale replaced Pokémon. Rai is a dual national If Rai's a dual national, he'll be in BBL next year. Far worse 'Brits' getting minutes than him this year.

Rai does look interesting. Given his college background I'm a little surprised he didn't get an opportunity with a BBL team this season. He really had a pretty decent NCAA1 career. 12 and 7 last season in the Ivy League isn't to be sniffed at. Were BBL clubs just not aware of him, or aware that he had a British passport? Was the possible lack of a perimeter threat the issue? His all round numbers in NBL1 this year are superb and significantly, he's shot 43% from the perimeter on a good number of attempts.
I can think of an extremely big and prestigious midlands based club that's done pretty well with both Canadian-Brits and Ivy Leaguers in recent years... Student deal at Riders next season, surely?

Fantastic achievement by a well run organisation, Mohawks came close in the late 90s early 20s Mohawks with Bucci, Perkins et al were the best team I have seen/known in D1 over the years. They were a BBL team in everything but name and would not have been near the bottom even in the Budweiser league days. City of Sheffield Arrows (now Derbyshire) were a close second when Ryan Patton, Todd Cauthorn, Mike Payne, Garnet Gayle et al were another team close to being unbeaten (I believe they lost a cup final on a last second shot to Reading that year). Both were, IMO, better than either the unbeaten Reading team (who were extremely good) and the recent Solent squads. I have not managed to see Hemel this year but if they are anywhere near as good as any of those squads that’s a huge achievement to them.

I remember meeting Ralph Bucci when he arrived he had just played in a college cup final in front 20000 people, fantastic player and a great guy to have a conversation with.
