Some of the single worst refereeing calls I've ever seen in the Newcastle/LDN game tonight, and guess who they were in favour of? Honestly pathetic. And I've seen bad before, but this was just next level. The product this league offers will never get beyond piss poor until the officiating standard gets up to scratch. See Dave Fs tweets for more if you need it. Honestly shameful. I'm still sat at home seething about it. Absolutely screwed by refs employed by the same organisation as one of the teams they've literally handed a game to on a plate. Whether they've been instructed to call games that way or not, it's such a bad look for the league. Bowe making awful calls with that smug smirk on his stupid face is one of the most rage inducing things I've ever seen. He td me for calling him an arrogant b*stard once. Worth it.

Don't often slate the refs (there's 39 other minutes to score points and they can't get every call right every time) but appalling tonight, 2 or 3 key easy calls that all went in Lions favour that would have had Eagles take the W. As Bigz rightly said it does call into question what's going on behind the scenes when it's so obvious Lions are getting cheap calls. And there's still been nothing said about them playing their C team against Glads in the cup. Im not sure its a conscious thing - theyre not good enough to make calls consciously for one team - theyre just overawed by the level of player on show. Ldn didnt deserve to win that game. They got bailed out by several absolute bum calls.

If anyone can explain why Love went MIA again tonight I'd like to hear the reason. Two good plays...er, that's it. Two points as well, I think. WOW. Correction ZERO points in 15 minutes on court. 0 from 5 field goal attempts, and an index of -1 worse than the three players who didn't even get on court. This guy has regressed since he was signed, he seems to slow down every offense, and shows absolutely no aggression or desire to get to the hoop. There must be a reason for this dismal display.

The contrast between the officiating in the BBL and the March Madness NCAA games, where they let the players actually play & actually get possession calls right, is striking. The league really does need to make this a priority.

I probably didn't explain that very well - I meant that the cheap calls favour the Lions in that they have a huge roster, not that the refs were consciously being biased. My theory is the cheap calls are so the Lions don't end up in games that get physical and may cause players to be injured for European games mid week.

That's what's so galling, Lions despite having a ridiculous budget and a huge bench should've been beaten last night, but the refs consistently bailed them out. It wasn't just the odd mistake from the refs at all.

Can't believe how far Leicester have fallen. To struggle to beat a very shorthanded Caledonia side shooting just 35% from the floor. Way off the previous level. And their recruitment at the guard spot has been terrible. Multiple players who have not been up to it ans Love leads the way with a dreadful game yesterday.
Fair play to Hamlet at Newcastle - what a performance 30 points in 23 minutes shooting 75%. If he had stayed in the game I think they had the win.

Very much looking forward to hearing DaveF’s views on last night’s officiating on SNB, although his Twitterfeed suggests he won’t hold back.
For me, the first half out-of- bounds (which wasn’t - I had a view right down the line) and Hamlet’s fifth foul were the worst examples. I genuinely thought the whistle had gone for a 4-point play and do wonder whether anyone other than Decker would have got that call. They’re not biased - just out of their depth and slightly in awe to big names.
The challenge for Eagles is to pick themselves up and to go out and win in Manchester tomorrow - they really are in the last chance saloon now.

Mackenzie is that guy. I doubt any Riders fans are ok with how Love is performing!

On an unrelated point, great to see that Eagles’ Arena was absolutely packed to the rafters last night, which is a considerable achievement given the team’s results this season.

Plymouth & Newcastle fans are amazing. No doubt about it.
