The semi finals this year are just a single leg with Derby and Cheshire at home I assume as they are both the higher placed teams in the draw. See below from the BBL site. Those who made the Trophy Quarter Finals in the 2021-22 season will receive a guaranteed home tie in the First Round of the 2022-23 Trophy, with an open draw determining ties and seeding. All rounds will be one-legged ties. Just found out it will be a one legged semi final based on the original draw. Noel Baker will be packed

Which confused me until I re read the format rules. Well if its a one off game then I would say anything can happen. And whilst they may have beaten London judging by the low score perhaps Blazers would have been strong enough to defeat Glads as well? Either way to get to the Semi final and host it at home will be a real treat for their fans. On the other side of its also a great opportunity for Gladiators to host a home final if they make it there as well. And hopefully after crashing out of 3 Semi finals last season. I'm sure coach Murray will be determined to atleast go one further if not all the way this time.

It will be a special occasion for the Blazers and you never know what could happen. Gladiators won't have played at a venue like NB too often. It will be great to see a BBL team here again

Yep this goes back to the discussion recently about NBL teams being in the trophy - and I daresay Derby would have beaten Surrey too had they played, and so could a few other NBL teams. So I think there is a place for them, even if they are never going to win the whole thing. Seems better than just scrapping it!

Think the game on the 5th will mean that Nix will push bck their scheduled game against Scorchers.
