Did they field a new player that night? Perhaps a registration issue

It's obviously not a player issue, I suspect that the club didn't follow the correct guidelines issued by the BBL and that Dan Clafk should have known the correct way to deal with it. Possibly welcome to the intricate issue of correct paperwork?

If it was an administrative oversight, why publish it on the main BBBL website?

code of conduct mentioned - points towards areas like fulfilment of media duties or content of social media perhaps or outspoken about an employee (player or official)?

• The Surrey Scorchers club were fined for a breach of BBL Operating Rules.
• The Surrey Scorchers GM, Dan Clark, was fined and required to take training in relation to a breach of the BBL’s Code of Conduct.

So I wasn't there for this game, but I believe the Scorchers had a couple of players foul out and refs haven't been popular at SSP this season anyway. I can only speculate, but my guess would be that Clark and/or Gardner were deemed to have stepped over the line in some of their conversations with the refs post-game.
