We've beaten giants, flyers and sharks already And still bedding in a new PG If we aren't finishing top 2 then who exactly is finishing above us? I’ll be surprised if you finish above Giants Maybe they are the danger. But we comfortably beat them I will myself be surprised if they finish above us

We’ll see. Season is still pretty new. Giants are obviously a good team and are probably the one I’d pick to finish 2nd.
All teams are still gelling to an extent.
Todays game not withstanding, Sharks have played really really well recently having beat Lions which was a fantastic achievement, which probably contributed to today’s lacklustre performance. I think there’s 4 or 5 teams that could finish 2nd. Riders and Sharks are two of em and probably Giants, Flyers and Gladiators.
Riders did look good today though and Thornton is a good player. Just not a forgone conclusion that you’ll finish 2nd.

Any of the teams you’ve mentioned. Just because you beat a team doesn’t mean you’re automatically going to finish above them? you’ve also lost to some teams too. We always improve as season goes on and Rob gels the team Those teams are going to continue to lose games themselves Just interested to know which other team is good enough to finish above us in the league (apart from Lions)? Can't see one myself Tbh at the moment I can see a few teams beating Riders in the league so far. Whilst they are still a force to be reckoned with. So I don't think they're as unbeatable this season as what they were last year. So far they are sitting on 3 losses from London, Bristol and Caledonia. And to tell you the truth while the Eagles aren't perfect unlike last season I think we have the capability to give Riders a run for there money this season. Which win or lose on the 26th November I will be looking forward to our first meeting with Leicester. Where we will find out how we match up. To me so far for Riders this looks like it's going to be a hangover season compared to last year especially since losing Geno. And without being biased when I watch both Riders and Eagles face London I felt we played the Lions a lot better then Riders did. And overall looking at the state of the BBL any team except London or Surrey can have a great night or a woeful night. So I'm expecting Riders to pick up a few more losses and could potentially finished 3rd or 4th this season. I know what I am saying is a bold statement and I'm not necessarily saying Eagles will finish above Leicester. However I reckon at some point this season hopefully the 26th we will beat you!

Without Walker we'll have to be on top form today. Looks like your shooting was doing the biz

Manchester and Caledonia should both win with ease, sheffield V Leicester has great potential Good win for the patriots and Surrey put up a fight in Manchester

For me Riders are now getting it together and will finish 2nd unless injuries dictate otherwise. I don’t consider myself anything like an expert but from following last year and this I think vince Macaulay seems a bit of a negative. He seems to recruit reasonably well but can’t pull teams together. I am sure someone more experienced will correct me. Also noticing that only the very best teams seem to be able to handle 2 games in 2 days away from home. It’s a very competitive league 2nd downward and Lions will win the league reasonably comfortably even although they look to have recruited poorly. The rest will be a bit more inconsistent. If Surrey can get their unavailable players into action then they will surprise a few at home. Very much enjoy watching the games just wish the games were spaced out a bit over the weekend.

Looks like your shooting was doing the biz No question that our 3 point shooting played a big part in that victory BUT we can't allow teams to get such a large lead against us so early and expect to dig ourselves out of the hole. Missing Walker. Need to find a replacement imo.

I haven’t written Mo off yet, most people with a bad achilles injury wouldn’t be putting any weight on it this soon after the injury. I prefer to wait for the consultants’ report, and keeping everything crossed in the meantime.
Worst outcome confirmed, Mo will have his achilles tendon operated on in the coming days, and will be out for the rest of this season.

During our last clean sweep season in 2015/16 I think I remember Fab ended up getting an achilles injury in the Trophy Final that year and somehow managed to make it back to reasonable fitness come playoff time.

I'd disagree with any of the Leicester naysayers. They'll comfortably be second and might have even pushed Lions if it wasn't for their (very understandable) issues replacing Geno. They've just given London a bit too much of a headstart in the league. Have really enjoyed watching them and it's great to see the likes of Whelan and Loving stepping out from under the (much missed by me) shadow of Geno.
Manchester are fun to watch but I think there are enough smart coaches in the league to come up with a plan for beating them.
Really am encouraged by how competitive all the teams are, every team has a right to expect to win games. I'm including Surrey in this once their team is all back out together, fingers crossed. Looking forward to seeing them play Eagles this Friday.
Still not sure what to expect from Eagles, I thought we played well for 3 quarters but switched off badly against Plymouth in fourth. Patriots missing their best player and essentially hitting their own self destruct button was helpful to say the least. Hopefully some stability will help this Eagles lineup and I expect to see Everett slot in as a starter at some point. He looks a real find.

Watched the Eagles v Plymouth game and despite some issues I think that Newcastle now have the pieces in place to make a very effective team. I expect them to push on from this win and become pretty formidable opposition.

They've been shooting the 3 very well at home, I think that works OK at the decent arenas but not so much when playing Plymouth, Sheffield, Bristol etc. You've got to do more than just shooting threes when playing away from home.

Mo Walker has ruptured his Achilles and is out for the season. It's official. Awful for him but at least the club can now look at obtaining someone to replace him.

It’s the way forward, Defoe needs to be off the bench these days and limited mins, should hopefully start seeing more from Everett and Ubiaro soon as well with more practice under Belts
