Impressed with what Vince said about building a following in the BBL. Praised Riders but perhaps also implicitly criticising Lions' owners? They clearly aren't building a core band of supporters. Maybe, but I didn’t get any indirect criticism from his comments personally. Generally he seemed in good spirits, with VIP courtside tickets presumably curtesy by of the league. I was left with the impression we haven’t seen the last of him in the BBL just yet… but don’t expect anything until next season.

Had a great pretty normal day out yesterday. It just felt like we had slid back in to going to finals with a full house.
Have to agree with others Geno was at times unstoppable, Once we took a decent lead I thought we kept Giants at arms length and could go up another gear if we wanted. loved have Kimble stepped upon the fourth quarter and took his our hold on the game. Well that was Robs 15th title / trophy and luckily I’ve managed to see everyone lifted in person and feel very privileged too, I also managed to witness the Cup and playoff win way back in 2001.
I would like to send massive praise to Jubril Adekoya, The young man (I won’t name him as I don’t have his permission) who was doing the floor wiping at the basket at the Riders bench is a volunteer at Riders that’s also his job on game night. Well at the end of the game Adekoya game him his winners medal and said he is a part of our team as he keeps us safe and helps us with rebounding when we’re warming up. It absolutely made his day and I would say will probably stick with him for a very long time. It’s little things like that, that make us humble fans hold our players with such high respect.

I know I'm late to the party but after working the finals day I finally managed to catch up and finish watching it all on Sky and overall great advert for the BBL.
I hope with the premier league footy on a break they managed to get extra viewers from this as Sky really made the most of the air time.
The womens match was a little disappointing and one sided but not surprising considering all the disruption and changes in the Eagles camp. London clearly out match the Eagles on that one although credit Maddie Mcvicar for playing with that nasty head wound. I did question why they kept playing her after that when the game was already over? As well why Sky decided to keep the camera focused on such a graphic blood scene. I dont know much about the WBBL having only seen a handful of games but from what I saw it wouldn't suprise me if the London ladies sweep the league.
The Slam Dunk contest was entertaining and I enjoyed more then I thought. To be honest I thought the Glasgow players final dunk was better and the Riders player deserved more points for that IG dunk then what he got but it wasn't bad. I hope they consider bringing a 3pt contest into one of the next finals as it adds to the basketball festivities.
Finally as for the main event as a neutral I wanted Giants to win but Riders proved why they are the top of the BBL. I thought us beating Giants the other week would have been the perfect warm game for them to polish things up and take Riders by suprise. But clueless play in the 2nd quarter and fouling was what costed them. As for Riders well deserved winner and as much as I hope we beat them I look forward to seeing Geno in action when they play Newcastle at Home even if we get crucified by them.
In the end it was nice seeing the BBL back on the Arena stage. Although I would have thought their would be a little more advertisement for the potential Birmingham franchise at the event. If it was mentioned at the end I did stop watching after Riders lifted the cup.
I look forward to seeing who takes stage at the Trophy Final again even as a neutral. Well done to Riders, Lions and everyone involved.🏀🇬🇧🏆
