invested in the package to stream the games - watched bit of Spain game at my lunchbreak, then after work before heading out to coach pre-season game watched 2nd half of Slovenia/Lithuania. wonder how long before the wife decides she should not have said yep to my doing courtside1891  |

Well that was disappointing. Was following the game whilst I was working but after really taking it to Lativia we were completely out matched against the Ukrainians.
I felt a lack of height really hurt GB although after what I saw I dont think I will be buying Courtside for the rest of the campaign sadly.

I felt a lack of height really hurt GB although after what I saw I dont think I will be buying Courtside for the rest of the campaign sadly. yes it was disappointing as this was a targeted game and yes the height is again a problem. however was good in the post game interview to hear acknowledgement that things went wrong to the plan (that was the key issue, not or size) and have to with the coaches work out why before todays game. if only like every other team they had been given a chance by their governing body! As to courtside - one of best purchases this summer. What a game Croatia/Greece - and this is just the opening games. Had Italy/Estonia on in background after. Commentator talked up the youth and enthusiasm of lowest ranked Estonia against the no10 in the world and don't be surprised to see them get a win in the games. Hope he is wrong! |

Good first quarter overall, couple of late mistakes or we may have been tied or ahead, At the same time though Croatia don’t look like they’ve got out of first gear yet

I know expectations were understandably low but definitely still underperformed so far imo

It’s a shame for all involved because a healthy, prepared GB would likely got at least one win, if not more
It’s just a shame 3 of the best 6/7 players have been injured and the obvious issues with lack of warm up time

Is it wrong to want the coach out? I’m certainly not saying this is his fault but having a part time coach just doesn’t feel right, although I’m guessing Stuetl couldn’t do it now anyway so not even sure who would make sense to give it too

IMO Still should have carried on. The part time thing is a joke. But the lack of investment and preparation would have meant no difference anyway.

Depressing videos with Luke and Nate Reinking, they both seem pretty emotional in different ways
It’s crazy we’ve gone into a tournament where most would have agreed one win would be a success and we’ve still managed to fall below expectations

No disrespect to Estonia but losing by 30 plus points makes me question why we're competing for Eurobasket at all and that we don't belong at this level?
Harsh I know and I agree can't pin it completely on the players or coach.
Other then more money and some NBA star players I don't know what else we would need to turn our national team around.

They are a good team who played with a lot of spirit and could have won more games. GB competed at Eurobasket because we qualified! So we do belong at that level! |

Slovenia's population is a quarter of the size of London and smaller than Wales, yet Wales haven't produced one GB player in years! Icelands population is 375,000 yet they punch above their weight at both basketball and football.This is mainly because they give their children opportunities to play all sports and be coached regardless of ability! |

I'm a bit surprised GB played their game today. Sports matches this evening were mostly cancelled in respect for Her Majesty the Queen. Maybe the news came too late to pull out, or maybe it's different being a tournament and also not in the UK. Anyway, no one in Britain will notice.
