Well since Eurobasket 2022 is on the Horizon so is the next round of GB Matches except this time they are friendlies as a warm up for the competition.🇬🇧🏀
First game is on Thursday 25th August 2022 where our team travels next door to play Belgium tipping off at 19:30pm. 🇧🇪
Then back in Newcastle on Sunday 28th August 2022 during Bank Holiday weekend we face off against Latvia at 18:00pm at the Vertu Motors Arena.🇱🇻
I dont know if any of these matches will be televised or if as usual UK broadcaster will sweep Eurobasket under the carpet. But as someone going to the Sunday game I hope for another good show and a win this time.

Hopefully they will be good matches and give GB some momentum for Eurobasket.

These are big games and it would be a real shame if they are hidden behind online paywalls.

Anyone know if Eurobasket is going to be exclusively on Courtside1891? Probably worth the annual pass if so.

I have paid for the subscription because like you say with Euro basket and everything else it’s actually a pretty decent deal, I would be pretty surprised if there is another legit way to watch Eurobasket in this country

Rough start after leading early, Belgium keep getting open for 3 and every game I watch we give up too many offensive rebounds, incredibly frustrating

43-32 half way through 3rd quarter, A few times we’ve managed to get it down to within 4 or 5 but every time we do we mess up and let them get the lead back up Pretty poor performance overall

Don’t want to be too negative but I feel like the Germany and France wins were definitely anomalies, I also understand we get less time than most other teams training camp but how many games have Luke-Teddy-Myles-Ovie-Gabe played together? I can’t imagine there is many other teams that I’ve had such a consistent core like we have, yet there is rarely any fluidity, Constantly looks like they are team that just met each other

It was very apparent the step up in quality once the Euroleague players like Shane Larkin and Sanli were involved in the recent loss to Turkey.

It was very apparent the step up in quality once the Euroleague players like Shane Larkin and Sanli were involved in the recent loss to Turkey. Even without those players though they are still good wins, their teams were still of a higher pedigree than us, and if we were consistently managing to play at that level it would be an improvement on where we currently are, we know we are not competing on a regular basis with teams full of NBA and Euro league players It’s disappointing though when we lose games with performances like we did the other day, against teams who are (or at least should be) a similar level to us

Remind me how many Euroleague or NBA players we had in those games? Erm, I think all of our NBA and Euroleague players were playing.
