Can’t see why London should have to leave the BBL even if (big if) they made it to Euroleague. And whilst I can see why they might want to build their own arena (control of premises, availability, ability to leverage commercial opportunities) the Copper Box is more than good enough even for Euroleague surely? But I can’t see any way of making a financial return on this investment unless either European competitions or (withhold laughter) the BBL attract a really huge TV contract. So the question is - is it a vanity project t or am I missing something? One of the Hoopsfix podcast had a guest talking about arena ownership. I think it was somebody involved with the new Gloucester team? Anyway he was saying it should be something to work towards where all teams own their own arena, as you said it helps with a lot financially. I don't know where all these crazy ideas have suddenly come from though? We don't even have a proper development league or system yet we are suddenly aiming to be Euroleague ready and owning arenas! Is 777 some kind of money laundering outfit Money laundering outfit would explain it.

If they really want to money launder they could sign Jamal and Kai Williams on multi year big money deals
