Fletch told he isn't wanted back by Steutel Well that got my attention, do tell more. Steutel wants 4 young imports and to use budget on at least 2 experienced GB internationals. Duke Shelton potentially coming back if he can prove fitness. Justin Gordon definitely isn't. Fletch was told told before the Plymouth 'play in' by Mac that this was likely to be his last game.

I heard a rumour that Sam and Milehigh are getting married, and IRF is a bridesmaid Mods - leave the post is my suggestion. Just delete the poster It serves as a really great reminder about how Hersey ruins sports forums and why we are all on here in the first place He sent me a lovely little PM yesterday as well from yet another ID he's set up on here! That I see you've had to delete as well!! Bless him It's actually pretty sad he's got nothing better to do with his life Leave the post. It will just embarrass him once he sobers up Well at least it would embarrass a normal person! We are all obviously living rent free in his head I'm sorry to see them giving you as well as Sam and Mile High such petty trolling. I managed to find the old board the other day and no suprise nothing had changed on that board. For someone who apparently works in Basketball I certainly agree that Herseys behaviour is extremely unprofessional a lot of the time. Makes me more glad we now have this board as our safe haven to actually talk proper Basketball.

Sounds like a plan How does 4 imports work nowadays in BBL? 3 US and 1 European?

I think that would be ideal but is there any guidance from the BBL on this or are you just speculating?

Basketball wise - he's obviously just very cheap labour doing something nobody else wants to do. Anyway I don't want to get dragged down wasting any more of my energy talking about Hersey

No issues with the Duke coming back but Gordon played well as his cover. Tony G has his say. newcastle-eagles.com/news/garbelotto-says-steutel-will-seize-the-moment/

Euros are imports now mate, doesn't matter where they're from everyone's an import unless they're British so can have 4 yanks.
Wouldn't be surprised to see active gb guards like Teddy or at a big stretch luke to pair with Clark.
Fletch was offered a big deal in London last season and turned it down, wonder if he'll head there this time

Thanks for keeping it on topic guys. Do report any abusive messages so the perpetrator can be dealt with. Final point on it though - He thinks he's posting regularly from 2 accounts here - maybe true, maybe not but he has missed the point that if he is posting then he's doing it without trolling and being a twit (keeping Solly happy there!) and it's probably killing him to have to post like a normal person, so if he thinks he's point scoring with that he's hilariously mistaken.

Has told hierarchy at Eagles he'd only come back for X amount which would have made him best paid player in League by some margin, allegedly.

Has told hierarchy at Eagles he'd only come back for X amount which would have made him best paid player in League by some margin, allegedly. . Justin Gordon was a great player for us last season and was nice to have him back and finally see him play in person. Although on the last game of the season he did fail save the day for us when we really needed him. If he did manage to find a better deal then I wouldnt blame him for not coming back. So far it seems like alot of people are expecting the GB (acting) head coach to recruit the Team GB squad as the Eagles team with some of the names dropped. Having said that seeing some of the high calibre of the GB players that wouldn't be a bad thing.

Genius or madness seems about right. Fletcher is a proven quality guard who is incredibly consistent and rarely misses games with injuries. It’s neither. Steutel is a great coach but no matter how highly he thinks of fletcher he can’t really keep him on. He’s been brought in to do a complete rebuild after they missed the playoffs, you can’t then bring back your PG.

Understand that from a cost point of view because fresh out of college Americans would be much cheaper. Nevertheless, it's a big gamble when Fletcher is so effective and experienced.

When trying to carry out a full rebuild, getting 3 or four players for the cost of one is a sound financial decision.
I'd think a "rookie" pro will not only have a lower salery, but will have cheaper housing costs etc.

The two GB players linked to Eagles would certainly not light my fire, if it’s true that is ( Source is very reliable) One never lasts a whole season without signing elsewhere, With the other being one of last seasons biggest disappointments, but should have dominated our league, But that’s just my humble opinion

Gordon won't be the last player to price himself out of a job. Wish him well though. Interesting times.

I’m guessing one is either Rob Gilchrist or Ryan Richards as the players who never stay a season, or maybe Kofi
Maybe Teddy for the underachiever as I can’t think of anyone else who fits the bill
