NBA megastar LeBron James and his son Bronny made history by being the first father son duo to play on court together on the same team during a recent pre season match against The Phoenix Suns. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/basketball/articles/c243g24enl0o Whether or not your fan of LeBron or Bronny. You have to admit it is remarkable to see a rare event like this happen. Making your debut in the biggest league and one of the most decorated teams in the world is one thing. But having to do it alongside your legendary father aswell. I don't know if that would be a blessing for Bronny or if that would make you more nervous.

I'd say its a blessing because if his dad hadn't drafted him right at the end of the 2nd round, he wouldn't have been drafted at all. However from what I've heard so far, he does have a chance of making the main roster even without dad pulling the strings.
But as Tony and Wilbon always say on PTI, who cares about the pre-season! Come back when it's the real thing. So I'm looking forward to them sharing the court in a proper game, only 2 weeks to go now for the season to start, great.
Father and son playing together, it may never happen again. It's like Vince Carter, who managed to play games in 4 different decades. These guys who go 22 seasons (or more!) get these incredible things happening to them.

I only casually follow the NBA these days, so was surprised Bronny wasn't drafted by the Lakers until the end of the second round. Not because I think he's a talent like his farther, I don't, but because everyone knows playing with his son has been a life long ambition for Lebron. So I was surprised Lakers didn't draft him sooner just to appease Lebron, and to ensure no other team didn't do it just to spite him/them - there was certainly the opportunity!

Yes that and maybe to try and tempt LeBron to join them! I think he's just signed a new contract with the Lakers but he could easily get himself traded if he wanted to. He basically runs the show there - another new coach he's hand picked who probably won't achieve much. The number of coaches LeBron has had fired is ridiculous. The question for me now is how much longer does he go on for? He's still one of the best players in the league which is absolutely insane - the very few players who have played past age 40 and/or past 20 seasons have all been massively in decline by that point and really more of a locker room voice/player-coach than playing meaningful minutes. So the fact he's still an all star level player, this is another first and unchartered territory. He hasn't given any indication of this being his final season so I imagine he'll play at least 2 more, but what's to say he couldn't do 3 or even 4 more? When he does start to decline he could still come off the bench if he wanted.
