£1500. Outrageous.

I guess Team USA select probably saw the parking cost and decided it would be cheaper to walk from the Airport hence the scoreline.

Two wins this evening for the Nix in Ireland. Both pretty easy

Eagles 102 Newcastle Knights 61
New rookie guard Jaelin Llewellyn top scored with 18 and looked pretty impressive, although hard to tell anything against the standard of opposition.

Nix won 3/3 over the weekend in Ireland, scoring 100+ in each game.

Gladiators beat Sharks 80-64 in a fast and physical encounter in what was supposed to be a friendly. Gladiators a lot bigger team than last year with lots of different threats. Difficult to tell with Sharks as they were using last years strips and the players name were all wrong, so not really sure about their new players.

Phoenix beat Lions (they sent their cubs) 92-60 in front of a few HUNDRED fans (only had one side set up and packed it out) at the EPSV. Scott-Grayson is looking like one to watch for the year

Scott-Grayson is looking like one to watch for the year We only had the one set of seats out for that game. 700 seats and we were absolutely full, people arriving even beore tip off had to struggle to find anywhere to sit. A pity we've got to wait till October for a home game, we'll just have to come to you!!

Think the story was that the side was their academy team and they were scrutinising them with a view to offering them a contact. There were more than 12 on the bench and a lot of 3/4 subs in and out.

Got to be happy with how you're shaping up so far? I've got inside info that they have high hopes for this season...

Can't think where that inside info is coming from!! Good mix of players with most of the squad all capable of winning games. About time you saw it for yourself although I appreciate its hard with your many basketball commitments.

Interestingly Matt Morgans brother was playing for the Lions. No news on him signing a contract though

The Eagles well and truly thumped Bristol Flyers tonight to win 91-71. Although it is a pre season game I can't remember us beating Flyers this comfortable since their early debut seasons in the BBL when we blowout most teams 20-30 points.
I didn't see the Surrey game on Sunday but whatever they did wrong in that game they certainly proved better tonight. The game at times was a little scrappy but some good shooting and defence from the Eagles overall.
As for Bristol who looked way smaller then their recent squad, looked as if they were playing us on the Newcastle Centre For Life Ice Rink the amount of times they fell over. They only had to run into an Eagles player accidentally and the ref would call a foul against us.
Andreas use of timeouts in the 2nd half made no sense either. Even when we were comfortabley beating them and inching ahead he didn't use his first time out of the half until 6.26 in the 4th Quarter?
After seeing one game it's hard to tell how we will do this season and I still suspect we are alot weaker then last season. Didn't see Will Neighbour tonight but the rest of the returning team Defoe, Delpeche, Hibbert and Kande looked good.
Hopefully in 10 days time we'll have a good Trophy run and book a early place in the first final of the new season. Well done Eagles!

So Surrey beat Eagles, Eagles beat Flyers and Nix are soon playing against Flyers. Could be an interesting season coming up.

It will be a good season if we don't have a ridiculously loaded team distorting the league. Frankly, after the debacle of 777 I am relieved we have any league at all.

Surrey should be an interesting test for Riders tonight. Anyone know whether it's being streamed?
