Really enjoyed last nights game, I think Riders threw the game away after having a commanding lead. Eagles went on a cracking run in the third and we just couldn’t stop it. How fantastic are Eagles at getting those quick hands steals, the times they would quickly tap the ball away to get a quick score from nothing.
At this rate we could end up playing the Eagles again in the playoffs and wouldn’t that make some cracking games. As for Teddy….to me he didn’t really look interested in the game, he can’t seem to get his head around that he will get called by the refs for decisions he won’t agree with, but he needs to let it go and crack on. And I did get to say Hello to the legend that is Les

Poor poor night for Phoenix. We lacked any enthusiasm, teamwork was stilted and we rarely if ever reached the quality of individual skill and cohesion that we've had for so long. Wasnt aware till I got home that Flyers secured their play off place and it showed with their performance.Foul count was 25-14 felt like there was a much bigger difference in those numbers, other posters hint at the national connection of Caledonia and last nights refereeing group. Hmmm!!

Well I called it. I said Eagles would go 1-1 this weekend and I was right. A tightly contested and close game between the 2 teams.
Safe to say if these 2 teams meet in the playoffs then which ever one gets the home court advantage will surely be the favourites to win the series. Having now watched the game back it was Darius getting into foul trouble in the 3rd that won us that game as it forced Marc to sub Depleche.
Which is exactly what we should have done down the stretch against Gladiators on Thursday evening. That and Leicester seemed to struggle without Allen on the floor and again got frustrated with each other as soon as the pressure intensified.
Although that tech wasn't as bad as the one on Sky the other night it was unfortunate for the Riders. Whilst Leicesters team did step up and play well with Lall and Thomas.
Clearly what I have learnt the past 2 games with Riders is how desperately they need Allen to remain on the floor. Whilst like all teams you can't be over reliant on one player they certainly need him if they want to stay in the game if they want a chance.
As for the Eagles we need to stop getting ourselves into holes early on and giving ourselves alot of work to do early on and get better at free throw shooting. If we ever team up with a charity and promise £10 for every made free throw at the line. I think they're going to be lucky to have made £50 with our luck of free throw shooting.
Back to the league though I think one more win for Gladiators will seal 3rd spot for them but looking at our final run of games apart from Nix I think we have a good shot at clinching 4th spot. But I think it all depends on which sort of Eagles team shows up for the final 5 games.

We all know you are a Phoenix Legend as is Roadnix who I also have the pleasure of calling a friend. Unfortunately I had the displeasure of meeting St Pat, now he has a different type of name tagged to him.

Fair play you did call it spot on, Marc needs to have more faith in Delpeche, meanwhile Neighbour and Spencer are now bench warmers

Agreed. I'm happy for Defoe to start but Defoe and Delpheche both need to know that Delpheche will get the majority of the minutes.

He was the same at Phoenix last year. He is also quite a streaky player. When he is on he is really good from outside. When he is cold he is really cold.

delpeche has had 3 good games in a row. Defoe has been by far their most consistent big man all season, particularly defensively. (which is where the eagles struggle most)
nothing wrong with the reffing in the cheshire game at all. If you just jack in threes you’re not going to get foul calls. Pretty basic concept.

Dying to listen to Mr Forrester’s SNB views on the Riders-Eagles game. Seemed to me that the team that made the least daft decisions scored a win, Faint praise indeed but intended!

and leicester look better without allen on the floor. There really is some rubbish posted on here Can you define 'look better' in this instance? If you're saying Riders are better on the eye without Allen then OK I guess. If you're saying Riders are an actual better basketball team without him every bit of evidence I can think of would seem to contradict that.

Despite Russell playing well the crucial factors as to why we lost are as follows imo: - no Holmes, owing to him being injured - weak defence at times - turnovers
